Oxygen Therapy now available at Marjorie Collins!
Our new oxygen chamber is finally ready for use and slots are available for booking. Oxygen Therapy can be beneficial for a range of conditions, including Multiple Sclerosis.
What is Oxygen Therapy?
During the treatment, you are placed in the oxygen chamber breathing pure oxygen through an oxygen mask. The pressure in the chamber is controlled to be twice that of regular air pressure. This allows yourbody to gather much more oxygen than it would normally. The entire process takes about one hour and thirty minutes which includes time to pressurise and depressurise the chamber.
What are the benefits of Oxygen Therapy?
Oxygen Therapy is used to treat a number of conditions and the oxygenation of cells helps the body renew its tissues and promotes healing. People with MS report various benefits including improvements to their bladder and fatigue, but everyone is different and their responses to Oxygen Therapy will also be different.
Is Oxygen Therapy safe?
Oxygen Therapy is safe for the vast majority of people. All of our operators are fully trained and we get expert medical advice where we are unsure whether it is safe to allow someone to use Oxygen Therapy.
Who can use Oxygen Therapy at Marjorie Collins?
We previously had a six seater chamber at MS Action and, because of the popularity of Oxygen Therapy, we restricted access to people with certain conditions such as MS and other neurological conditions, cancer, autism and Long Covid. However, we now have twelve seats and so are reviewing this to include other conditions.
There is a lot more information on Oxygen Therapy so, if you are interested in using the chamber, speak to Diane/Karen at reception or call us on 0208 531 9216

Some of the conditions it can assist with are:
Back pain, sciatica
Kidney and urinal problems, incontinence
Digestive and bowel problems, IBS, constipation
An earache and TMJ problems
Migraines and other forms of a headache

Calling all MS Fashionistas!
Primark have launched a range of adaptive clothing which includes items for disabled people including those who use wheelchairs or have limited dexterity. The range includes openings for tubes, magnetic button closure and coats with magnetic-fastening pockets, including a cropped trench coat designed so that the material doesn’t rub on the wheels of a manual wheelchair.
Better still, it’s all at Primark prices.
Our Complaints Policy

We want everyone to enjoy their time at the Marjorie Collins Centre and to feel happy and comfortable with their experience.
Sadly, sometimes things go wrong and people may feel unhappy with something and not be sure where to go.
First step is to speak to either Diana, the Office Manager, or a Board or Committee Member, and we’ll try to get it sorted out. We also have a Complaints Policy and Procedure that can be found on our website. We can also help you complete a omplaints form if this is difficult for you.
You can be assured that you will not be treated unfavourably if you make a complaint and we welcome the opportunity to improve the services that we offer to people.
